Monica “MONO” Campbell is an oil painter whose artistic journey has been shaped by her experiences across various states, including Washington, Alaska, Utah, and currently, Arizona. Drawing inspiration from the vibrant tapestry of life around her, Monica views every element—be it a flower, a captivating landscape, or a fleeting emotion—as an opportunity to convey a story on canvas. Her work generates an urgent desire to capture beauty and spontaneity through vibrant color and dynamic brush strokes. Rejecting the confines of realism and perfection, she embraces the unexpected, allowing accidents and serendipitous ideas to guide her creativity. In her approach, she embodies the spirit of Emil Nolde’s philosophy: “Grasp what lies at the very heart; transform nature by infusing it with one’s own mind and spirit.”

From Montana mountains, to desert skies, I paint from memory, mystery, and raw emotion.
