Witnessing my Aunt Brenda and Uncle Bob flourish as illustrators in Brooklyn, NY, left an indelible mark on my artistic journey. Their studios, nestled within the warmth of their picturesque brownstone, were vibrant spaces brimming with creativity. The colorful, expressive works that adorned their walls not only showcased their talent but also cultivated an environment that nurtured my own passion for painting. Their dedication to their craft has instilled a belief in me that art may indeed run in our veins, sparking a curiosity and commitment to pursue my own artistic expression.

Next is my sister Karra Wise. We are two years apart and grew up together in Seattle, WA. We had an amazing childhood, growing up south of Seattle in a beautiful home with a loving family. Our mom always had a garden and canned everything she harvested. She was a baker who made the best pies and cakes, and Karra and I always loved watching her work her magic in the kitchen. Karra grew into an accomplished pastry chef, food designer, and pottery maker. She was also deeply influenced by our Aunt Brenda, who owned a collection of New York pottery from various artists and often shared her treasured pieces with us. This blend of culinary art and handcrafted pottery has shaped Karra’s unique creative path.
